Data Center Power & Cooling
Power is the first constraint anyone hits and the last one anyone budgets. We size the UPS, PDU and thermal envelope against the actual rack load and deliver it racked, metered and labeled.

- Sized against
- Measured rack load, not nameplate ratings
- Scope
- UPS, batteries, PDUs, airflow and containment
- Delivery
- Racked, metered, labeled to your elevation
- Boundary
- Electrical work is performed by your licensed contractor
Nameplate ratings will size you a room you cannot afford or cannot cool
Sum the nameplate power of every device in a rack and you get a number that no rack has ever drawn. Size the UPS and the branch circuits from it and you buy far too much; size the cooling from measured idle instead and you buy far too little for the day everything runs at once. Real sizing sits between the two, comes from measured or modeled load with a growth allowance stated openly, and drives everything downstream: UPS capacity and runtime, battery configuration, the number and type of PDUs, the receptacle mix, and the airflow management that decides whether the cooling you have is actually reaching the equipment.
The whole power path, from feed to receptacle
This is one of the deepest lines on our catalog. A note on brand names: several familiar power brands resolve to their parent group in our index, so we link the parent — Schneider Electric, Eaton and Vertiv each carry sub-brands you may know by another name. Naming a manufacturer describes the market, not a Uniqcli partnership or endorsement.
UPS and batteries
Eaton, Schneider Electric, Vertiv and CyberPower across general-purpose and industrial UPS, with the battery configuration quoted as its own line — runtime is a battery decision, not a UPS decision.
Rack PDUs and metering
Server Technology, Legrand, Panduit, Eaton and Vertiv rack PDUs — basic, metered, monitored and switched — quoted with the receptacle mix and input plug matched to your actual equipment rather than to a catalog default.
Airflow and thermal management
Airflow systems, containment, blanking and fan trays — the cheapest capacity increase most rooms have available, because a hot aisle short-circuiting into a cold one wastes cooling that has already been paid for.
Racks, containment and cable management
Legrand and Panduit racks, cabinets, containment and cable management, quoted to your elevation so the power path, the cable path and the airflow path are designed as one thing.
How we arrive at the number
We start from what you can measure. Branch-circuit readings, existing PDU telemetry or a per-device load model — in that order of preference. Nameplate is used only where nothing else exists, and when it is used we say so on the document.
Then we apply a growth allowance you agree to rather than one we assume, and we size UPS capacity to the load with the runtime you actually need — which is usually the time to a controlled shutdown or to generator transfer, not the hour that gets specified by habit. Battery configuration follows from that, and it is quoted separately because it is the part that will be replaced on its own schedule.
Finally the distribution: PDU count and type per rack, receptacle mix matched to the equipment, input plug matched to the circuit your electrician will actually install. Getting that last detail wrong is the single most common reason a rack sits half-populated on install day.
Delivered as a rack, not as a pallet
- PDUs mounted and labeled to your rack elevation
- Receptacle mix and input plugs matched to the installed circuits
- UPS and battery configuration quoted and delivered as a set
- Blanking and containment supplied with the rack, not as an afterthought
- Country of origin recorded per line; NDAA §889 screening before the quote
- Electrical connection performed by your licensed contractor, to local code
Power and cooling questions
Do you perform the electrical work?
No. Uniqcli supplies, racks, labels and stages the equipment. Connection to building power, panel work, circuit installation and anything else requiring a licensed electrician is performed by your contractor, to local code and under your permits.
How much runtime should the UPS carry?
Usually enough for a controlled shutdown or for transfer to a generator, which is far less than the runtime most specifications ask for out of habit. Longer runtime is a battery cost that grows quickly. Tell us which of those two events the UPS is bridging and the number follows.
Why is airflow management on a power page?
Because it is a capacity decision. Blanking panels, containment and correct rack layout stop cooled air bypassing the equipment, which is the cheapest way to get thermal headroom back in an existing room — cheaper than any additional cooling unit.
Can you meter existing racks before we buy?
We quote metered and monitored PDUs that give you that telemetry going forward. For a room with no instrumentation today, the honest first step is often a small metering purchase to produce real numbers before the large purchase is specified.
Procurement
Sized on measured load, delivered racked and labeled.
UPS, batteries, PDUs, airflow and containment quoted as one bill of materials against your rack elevation — country of origin recorded per line and NDAA §889 screened before the quote goes out.
