Can loss-prevention video and POS hardware ship on the same purchase order as networking?

Does buying segmentation hardware make our stores PCI DSS compliant?

No, and be wary of anyone who says otherwise. PCI DSS v4 compliance is assessed against your whole cardholder-data environment — policies, processes and evidence, not a parts list. What hardware sourcing contributes is the enforcement layer: firewalls and managed switches that segment the payment network from guest Wi-Fi and back-office traffic, delivered with configuration documentation your QSA or self-assessment can reference. The compliance obligation stays with you; the segmentation gear just has to hold.

Is Wi-Fi 6E worth specifying for store deployments yet?

It depends on your client devices, which in retail lag the access points. Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) improves efficiency in the congested 2.4 and 5 GHz bands every store already fights with; Wi-Fi 6E extends the same protocol into the cleaner 6 GHz band, but only 6E-capable clients can use it. If your handheld scanners and POS tablets are 5 GHz-only, 6E capacity sits idle — audit the device fleet before paying the premium.

Can franchisees order the corporate-standard store kit individually?

Yes. The pattern that works is one reference bill of materials per store format, owned by corporate, with individual franchise operators ordering against it — each site gets the identical kit, imaged and labeled the same way, but pays on its own purchase order and its own terms.
