New Hire Technology Kits

Onboarding hardware is a repeatable kit, not a fresh purchase each time. We hold the standard build, image and tag it, and ship it to a desk or a home address so it is waiting on the start date.

Scope
A standing kit per role, built and released on start dates
What we quote
Notebooks, displays, docking, headsets, peripherals, cases
Handover
Asset tag applied, serial and image level recorded per unit
Boundary
Your image and your MDM tenant — we never hold the directory
Overview

The same purchase, made badly, forty times a year

Onboarding hardware is the most repetitive purchase most IT teams make and the one most often handled as if it were novel. A start date lands, somebody prices a laptop that week, a dock and a headset get added from whatever is on hand, and the unit is imaged in a rush the afternoon before — or worse, on the new joiner's first morning while they watch. The cost is not really the hardware. It is the variance, the lost first day, and an asset record that gets written from memory. Uniqcli treats the kit as a standing bill of materials instead: held per role, built the same way each time, imaged and asset-tagged during staging, and released against a start date to a desk or a home address.

What we quote

The four parts of a role kit

Lenovo, Microsoft, ViewSonic, Logitech, Jabra and EPOS cover the standard onboarding estate from verified priced lines. Naming a manufacturer describes the market, not a Uniqcli partnership or endorsement.

The build

What happens between the order and the start date

Every unit runs through the same integration sequence: your image and firmware baseline applied, the configuration staged against your build sheet, an asset tag applied to your numbering scheme, and the serial read from the unit rather than transcribed from a carton. The loaded image level is recorded against that serial, so the manifest you receive describes what actually shipped.

Enrollment is where the boundary sits. Where a role uses zero-touch or modern provisioning, the device identifiers can be captured during staging and handed to you for registration in your own tenant. We do not hold your directory, we are not an administrator in your environment, and the enrollment record is created by you.

Release is scheduled, not batched. Kits are held and released against start dates through the same warehousing and staging lane that runs phased rollouts, which is what lets a kit arrive the week before someone joins instead of a month early into a cupboard.

How you buy it

From role definition to a package on a desk

  • Kit defined per role, with memory, storage and dock fixed rather than improvised
  • Standing bill of materials held so a re-order is a date, not a fresh specification
  • Image, firmware baseline and configuration staged against your build sheet
  • Asset tag applied and serial recorded, handed over as a structured manifest
  • Released to a desk or a home address against the start date
  • Kit reviewed on a cycle so a line going end of sale is a planned change
Questions

Onboarding kit questions

Can you ship directly to a remote employee's home?

Yes — kits are released to the address on the order, whether that is a site, a desk or a home. White-glove delivery is available through our logistics lane where the package or the recipient warrants it, and the asset record is written at staging either way, so a remote joiner is on the register from day one.

Do you image the devices with our build?

We apply the image and firmware baseline you provide and stage the configuration against your build sheet. We do not author your image, hold your directory or administer your MDM tenant — the enrollment record is created by you, from identifiers we capture during staging.

What if a line in the kit goes out of stock before a start date?

We tell you before you commit rather than substituting quietly. Stock and lead time are confirmed on every line, and where a kit component is genuinely unavailable we propose the alternate for your approval. Nothing is swapped on the floor without it.

Can we hold different kits for different roles?

That is usually the right answer. Two or three kits — a standard role, a mobile role and a heavier technical role — cover most organizations without the pretence that everyone needs the same machine. Each is held as its own bill of materials and re-ordered by name.
