Data Analytics Infrastructure

Analytics platforms are chosen by the agency and paid for in hardware. Uniqcli sizes and supplies the compute, memory and storage the chosen platform actually needs, and quotes the operating-system and virtualization subscriptions alongside it.

Overview

The platform decision is already made; the hardware decision usually is not

By the time infrastructure gets involved, the analytics platform has normally been chosen — through an evaluation, an existing agreement, or the simple fact that the data already lives there. What remains unanswered is the part that determines whether the deployment performs: how much memory a query engine needs to avoid spilling to disk, how many cores the ingest and transformation jobs consume, what the storage tier has to sustain during a nightly load, and what the operating-system and virtualization subscriptions will cost every year afterwards. Uniqcli sizes and supplies that layer, and quotes its recurring lines honestly alongside the capital ones.

How we size it

Three questions that produce a defensible configuration

The first is the working-set size — how much data a typical query or job actually touches, as opposed to how much is stored. Memory is sized against that number, and it is the single most common place a deployment is under-provisioned, because the storage figure is the one everybody quotes.

The second is the load window. Nightly ingest and transformation jobs have a deadline, and the storage tier plus the network path between it and the compute either meets it or does not. This is a throughput calculation, and it is far cheaper to get right at quote time than to remediate after go-live.

The third is the licensing model. Some platforms and operating systems are licensed per socket, some per core, some per node — and the cheapest hardware configuration is occasionally the most expensive total once the subscription is counted. We put the recurring lines next to the capital ones so the comparison is visible before you commit.

How you buy it

From platform requirement to delivered infrastructure

  • Send the platform's published sizing guidance, or the workload profile you have
  • We return one consolidated quote: compute, memory, storage, network path and subscriptions
  • TAA (FAR 52.225-5) and NDAA §889 screening runs per line before the quote goes out
  • Nodes built to one documented configuration, firmware leveled and burned in
  • Racked, cabled and labeled to a published elevation where the order includes deployment
  • Renewal dates recorded so subscription lapses are scheduled work, not an outage
Questions

Analytics infrastructure questions

Do you sell the analytics platform itself?

Warehouse, lakehouse and BI platform products are not lines we carry priced in the catalog; where a design calls for one, it is sourced on request through authorized US distribution. What we size and supply is the infrastructure underneath, which is platform-agnostic by nature.

What if we have not chosen a platform yet?

We can still size sensibly from the workload — data volume, concurrency, load window and retention — and quote infrastructure with headroom in the dimensions that platforms commonly differ on. We will not recommend a platform, because that decision depends on your data, your staff and your procurement history rather than on our catalog.

Can you quote against a vendor's published sizing guide?

Yes, and it is the easiest path. Send the sizing document or the reference architecture and we quote hardware that meets it, noting anywhere our configuration differs and why — usually memory headroom or a faster storage tier than the minimum.

Do you handle the subscriptions as well as the hardware?

Operating-system subscriptions, virtualization entitlements and support terms are quoted as their own lines and sourced through authorized US distribution. We record renewal dates with the order so the first renewal is a scheduled purchase rather than a surprise interruption.

Either works. We will quote compute, memory, storage and the subscriptions that ride with them as one screened bill of materials.
