The B130-101A-WP-2 VGA with Audio over Cat5/Cat6 Extender Kit includes transmitter and receiver wallplate units that work in tandem to extend a VGA signal to to a projector, monitor or television. The kit is ideal for digital signs in schools, churches or retail applications where the video source is located farther than conventional cables allow. Because compatibility issues can occur when EDID information is not properly communicated between the source and the display, the B130-101A-WP-2 includes an EDID copy feature. This enables the transmitter to store the display's EDID information and send it to the video source, ensuring top-shelf compatibility.

The B130-101A-WP-2 can extend a 1024 x 768 (60 Hz) signal up to 1,000 feet and a 1920 x 1440 (60 Hz) signal up to 500 feet when using 24 AWG solid-wire Cat5e/6 cable, such as Tripp Lite's N022-01K-GY (Cat5) and N222-01K-GY (Cat6), to connect the two units. For optimal image quality between 500 and 1,000 feet, use zero-skew cable, such as Tripp Lite's P524-01K. The RJ45-type wallplate jacks accept standard Cat5e/6 patch cables, so no 110 punchdown connection is required.

The B130-101A-WP-2 extends a 1920 x 1440 (60 Hz) video signal with audio up to 500 feet or a 1024 x 768 (60 Hz) video signal with audio up to 1,000 feet. The kit comes with both the transmitter (local) and receiver (remote) wallplates and sends the signals over user-supplied Cat5e/Cat6 cable. To achieve maximum distance and resolution, use 24 AWG solid-wire Cat5e/Cat6 cable, such as Tripp Lite’s N222-Series or N202-Series Cat6 Cable. For optimal image quality between 500 and 1,000 feet, use zero-skew cable, such as Tripp Lite’s P524-01K.

Use the included screws to wall mount the transmitter and receiver wallplates to single-gang electrical boxes. An RJ45 jack on the back of both units provides easy connection for Cat5e/Cat6 cables without the hassle of 110 punchdown connections. The cable is hidden behind the wall, reducing cable clutter and giving installations a clean, professional look because only your device cables are visible. With the B130-101A-WP-2, you have the flexibility to house the video source in a secure, remote location while still delivering the signal to a VGA display or projector in another area.
