Multi-level password security can be set up for an administrator and up to 4 local users to ensure only those with authorization can access the connected computers.The eight included P778-series combo cable kits support both PS/2 and USB connections, so no adapters are required. A console cable kit can be plugged into the rear of the unit to allow for connection of a Tripp Lite B051-000 IP Remote Access Unit or an external console. A USB port on the front of the keyboard lets you connect an external mouse, plus an external USB 1.1 port means you can add a peripheral that can be shared across all connected servers. When not in use, the B020-U16-19-K stores neatly in a rack drawer and pulls out when needed. This KVM console is compatible with all major operating systems. Heavy-duty steel housing stands up to frequent use.

Supports Multiple Platforms and Simple, Flexible Network Control

The B020-U16-19-K supports both PS/2 and USB connections using Tripp Lite P778-Series PS/2-USB Combo KVM Cable Kits (8 included; 16 total required). Because compatibility is based on common hardware standards rather than system software dependencies, almost any platform can be accommodated. Connect multiple versions of multiple platforms in any combination, including UNIX, Linux, Windows, Mac OS and Solaris.

The B020-U16-19-K is designed to ease multi-server management in data centers, server rooms and other high-density environments. BIOS-level access allows network administrators to solve complex problems efficiently and restore service before downtime affects productivity. An advanced on screen display (OSD) with high-resolution VGA video (up to 1280 x 1024) provides a graphical user interface with management tools, including custom port labeling, auto-scanning and panel array mode. Users may also select a connected computer using on-console pushbuttons or keyboard hotkey commands. 2 LEDs per KVM port indicate when a computer is connected to a KVM port and powered on and when a computer is selected. 2 USB ports are provided for connection of an external mouse and flash drive.

The B020-U16-19-K is capable of controlling up to 512 servers/computers by daisy-chaining additional KVMs (Tripp Lite model B022-U16). This gives network managers the flexibility to add capacity when it’s needed, accommodating growing data center requirements without disrupting existing equipment.

Securely Access Servers Anywhere with IP Remote Access Accessory

With the addition of an optional IP Remote Access Unit (Tripp Lite model B051-000, sold separately), the B020-U16-19-K provides secure IP remote access to connected servers/computers. IP remote access enables system administration, BIOS-level troubleshooting, GUI application installations, equipment reboots and more to be accomplished from any location using a standard Web browser or multi-platform client software. A modem port provides optional out-of-band dial-up access to equipment when the network or Internet connection goes down. The B051-000 also supports USB virtual media access.

The B020-U16-19-K offers 2 levels of password protection (administrator/user) to prevent unauthorized persons from gaining access to connected servers/computers.
