Unified Communications Hardware

We do not run a UC service. What we do is source the headsets, room systems and peripherals your platform certifies, standardize the specification across the estate, and deliver them asset-tagged and ready to enrol on the day the rollout reaches each floor.

Headsets, room systems, cameras, microphones and desk peripherals

Overview

The platform is chosen; the estate is the problem

By the time hardware is being bought, the UC decision has usually been made and the interesting question has shifted. It is now: which headset becomes the standard for four thousand people, what goes into the small rooms versus the boardroom, how the devices arrive tagged and recorded, and who has spares when the first hundred fail in year two. That is a standardization and logistics problem with a certification constraint attached, and it is the problem we can actually take off your desk.

Moving parts

What decides the specification

Certification comes first, and it is genuinely constraining. Most UC platforms publish a device certification program, and a device outside it may work but will not be supported when a call quality complaint reaches the vendor. We quote against the certification list you work to rather than against a generic best-seller.

Then room tiering. A huddle space, a standard meeting room and a board room are three different bills of materials, not one scaled up: camera field of view, microphone coverage, display size and the control surface all change. Standardizing three or four room types across an estate is the difference between a rollout and a series of bespoke installs.

Wired versus wireless headsets is the third, and it is an operational decision rather than a preference. Wireless raises the per-unit cost, adds a battery lifecycle and a charging story, and reduces desk clutter; wired removes all three. Contact-center style environments frequently land differently from knowledge-worker floors, which is why we separate them.

Poly and Polycom endpoints are quoted through our HP sister catalog rather than as a hub cart line — send the part numbers and they come back on the same quote as the rest of the estate.

Limits

What stays yours to run

We do not operate a unified communications service, host a platform, provide a tenancy, or run a helpdesk for one. Your platform vendor and your own IT organization own the service, the licensing entitlements attached to users, the dial plan and everything that happens after a device enrols. We source and integrate the endpoints, and we can stage, tag and deliver them.

We also do not certify devices. A certification list is published by the platform vendor and changes over time; what we do is quote against the list you give us and flag when a model you have specified has moved. Where a device is not on the list, we say so rather than quietly substituting.

Questions

UC hardware questions

Do you supply the UC platform licenses?

Software and subscription licensing is quotable and sourced through authorized US distribution, so it can appear on the same quote as the hardware. What we do not do is operate the service — the tenancy, the dial plan, the user entitlements and day-two support belong to your platform vendor and your IT organization.

How do you handle device certification for our platform?

We quote against the certification list you work to. If a model you specified has moved off the list, we flag it before the quote goes out and offer alternates that are on it. We do not certify devices ourselves and would not claim to — the list belongs to the platform vendor.

Can devices arrive asset-tagged?

Yes. Endpoints can be tagged, recorded against a user or location and boxed by floor or department before delivery, so enrollment on the day is a scan rather than an inventory exercise. That work runs through our OEM integration lane and is quoted as a line rather than assumed.

Can you supply Poly or Polycom endpoints?

Yes, through our HP sister catalog rather than as a hub cart line. Send the part numbers with the requirement and they come back priced on the same quote as headsets, room systems and accessories.
