Overview
Tripp Lite's High-Speed USB 2.0 Active A-B cable overcomes the 5-meter USB distance limitation with an active repeater in the middle of the cable. Now USB printers and other devices can be located up to 36 ft. (11m) away from the computer in a single, non-daisy chainable run, with no need for extension cables. Full 480Mbps speed is maintained along the entire length of the cable. Backward compatible to USB 1.1. Plug-and-play, Windows and MAC compatible. The U042-036 provides up to 150mA of power to the connected device. If your device requires more than 150mA of power, it will either need to have its own power supply; or, to be plugged into a powered USB 2.0 hub (such as U222-007-R) that is connected to the U042-036.

Bus-Powered Signal Booster and High Speed Data Transfer
The U042-036 features a bus-powered signal booster (no external power source required) in the middle of the cable that extends the range of the USB signal. This enables USB peripheral devices such as printers, scanners and card readers to be located up to 36 feet from the host computer with no loss of signal quality. It provides true plug-and-play convenience with no complicated setup procedures required. The U042-036 lets you hot-swap connected devices at any time with no need to power down the computer.
With its superior design and construction, plus data transfer rates of up to 480 Mbps, the U042-036 is ideal for multimedia and other high-end applications that require fast, clear transmission, free of line noise and other interference, over long distances. The U042-036 can provide 150mA of power to a connected device. Note: if your device requires more than 150mA of power, it will either need to have its own power supply or be plugged into a powered USB 2.0 hub like Tripp Lite’s U222-004-R, sold separately.
