A WIDE version of our standard 42U SmartRack. This enclosure is 750mm wide (29.5") compared to the standard 600mm wide (23.6"). This extra width allows for high density equipment installations. It allows cable management and PDU mounting off to the sides of the rack in order to keep these items out of the airflow for proper cooling. All features from the standard SmartRacks carry over to these wide racks to allow cross usage of accessories. Meets all enclosure requirements towards PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) Compliance.

Its integrated baying tabs make it easy to combine multiple enclosure cabinets in row-based data centers. The SR42UBWD offers guaranteed compatibility with all EIA-310-E compliant 19-in. equipment, and is also 100% compatible with today's state-of-the-art hot-aisle/cold-aisle data center configurations.

Extended 30” Width Allows for Easier Installation and Service, Plus Improved Airflow and Cable Management

The SR42UBWD’s extended 30-in. width is larger than a standard 24-in. wide enclosure cabinet. The extra width supplies more room for equipment installation and service, along with enhanced airflow and additional cable management options. With the SR42UBWD, cable management and PDU mounting can be kept off to the sides of the rack for an unobstructed airflow path and improved cooling performance.

Secure Access for All Mission-Critical Equipment

The SR42UBWD is designed to provide a safe, secure installation solution for mission-critical rackmount equipment. Its locking, removable front and rear doors are perforated to promote efficient airflow. The side panels are also locking and removable. Locking doors and side panels prevent unauthorized access to installed equipment. The side panels are half size (two per side) for ease of removal and reinstallation. The front door is reversible and the split rear door design reduces clearance requirements for service access so the enclosure cabinet can be placed closer to a wall.

Designed for Simple Equipment Installation

The SR42UBWD’s front and rear pairs of vertical rails with square mounting holes are adjustable in quarter-inch increments to accommodate equipment depths from 4 to 37 inches. Adjustment is quick and convenient—simply unscrew the rails, slide them to the desired depth and restore the screws. An easy-view depth index ensures consistent rail placement without requiring time-consuming measurements. The rails are capable of supporting up to 3000 lbs. of equipment with included installation hardware and feature square mounting holes. Each rack space within the enclosure cabinet is numbered for ready reference.

Toolless Vertical Mounting Rails Support 0U PDU and Cable Manager Installations

The SR42UBWD’s two adjustable vertical mounting rails support toolless button-mount 0U installation of compatible PDUs and cable managers. Each rail can accommodate two vertical PDUs or cable managers side by side, for a total of four units per enclosure cabinet. These vertical mounting rails make it easier to route power and cabling to installed rack equipment and are ideal for network switches that have side-to-side airflow and forward-facing ports.

Preinstalled Casters and Leveling Feet for Precise Placement

To simplify deployment, the SR42UBWD comes with preinstalled casters and leveling feet. The casters allow the SR42UBWD to be easily maneuvered into the desired location, where it can then be secured in place by adjusting the leveling feet. The SR42UBWD has a rolling load capacity of 2250 lbs., enabling rack equipment to be installed in the enclosure cabinet prior to final deployment. Note: The casters are intended for minor position adjustments within the final installation area only and are not designed for moving the enclosure cabinet over long distances.
