Overview

DC-to-AC Power for Ambulance and EMS Vehicles

Tripp Lite’s EMS1250UL PowerVerter

Inverter/Charger is the ideal power solution for ambulances and EMS vehicles that require a clean, quiet AC power source. Containing terminal input and hardwire output, the EMS1250UL efficiently converts DC power from a 12V vehicle battery bank into 120V AC power. It provides equipment with utility- or generator-supplied AC electricity filtered through premium Isobar

surge protection so sensitive electronic equipment is protected against damaging power surges. Unlike portable generators, the EMS1250UL requires no fuel and produces no noise or fumes.

Meets All Agency Safety Standards for Ambulance Operation

The EMS1250UL has been

t ested to UL vehicular standard 458 and meets GSA Ambulance Specification KKK-A-1822. With two hospital-grade 5-15R-HG GFCI protected outlets and hospital-grade 5-15P-HG plug, the EMS1250UL also meets OSHA requirements. For emergencies where reserve battery power is crucial, Anderson quick connect DC wiring terminals safely accept input from an extra battery bank.

Works as an Inverter, Standalone AC Power Source or UPS

The EMS1250UL features an automatic line-to-battery transfer switch and integrated charging system that allow it to work as a vehicle inverter, standalone AC power source or extended-run UPS. When the EMS1250UL is connected to an AC power source, power is passed through to connected equipment and the battery set is charged via a 3-stage, 14/55-amp selectable charging system with adjustable settings for wet/gel/AGM battery types. In the event of a power failure or severe voltage fluctuation, the EMS1250UL responds with a near-instantaneous (16.6 millisecond) automatic transfer to battery power. Any number of user-supplied batteries may be connected to the EMS1250UL to provide unlimited extended battery backup support for critical equipment. A three-position switch enables you to select AUTO mode, CHARGE-ONLY mode or SYSTEM OFF mode.

Meets Normal and Peak Power Demands

When operating in inverter mode, the EMS1250UL accommodates peak surge demands by providing up to 200% more output power than its continuous rating of 1250 watts. In OverPower™ mode, the EMS1250UL can deliver 1875 watts for up to an hour, providing ample reserve power to keep tools and equipment running longer. In DoubleBoost™ mode, it can deliver 2500 watts for up to 10 seconds to support power-hungry equipment start-ups and motor cycling requirements.

Overload Protection

To prevent damage to the inverter and connected equipment, the EMS1250UL shuts down automatically if an overload is detected at the AC output connection. The red Load Level Indicator LED will flash to alert you that an overload has occurred. Additional overload protection is provided by a 12-amp AC input circuit breaker, a 12-amp AC output circuit breaker and a built-in multi-speed cooling fan.

Front Panel LEDs

The EMS1250UL features six front-panel diagnostic LEDs to indicate load level (high, medium and low), battery charge (high, medium and low), shutdown status and system fault status.

Remote Control Capability Included

The EMS1250UL includes the APSRM4 Remote Control LED/Switch Module accessory. When connected to the RJ45 port, it allows you to control and monitor the inverter/charger from virtually anywhere within a vehicle.

Vehicle Ignition Syncing

For worry free operation, the EMS1250UL features an ignition switch control jack to support inverter shutoff or startup as a vehicle’s ignition is engaged.

2.5-Year Product Warranty and Environmentally Responsible Design

The EMS1250UL is backed by a two and a half year warranty and manufactured in compliance with strict RoHS specifications, reflecting Tripp Lite’s commitment to environmental responsibility.
