The AV550SC Backup Power Block provides the highest level of protection for structured cabling installations (ie. telephone, Internet and coax connections). With reliable battery backup, surge protection and EMI/RFI line noise filtering, the AV550SC provides a complete protection solution for audio/video distribution systems by supporting modems, routers, RF amplifiers, network interfaces, cameras, modulators and other equipment through all power problems. In the event of a power failure, the AV550SC includes an auto-restart feature that eliminates the need to perform an on-site restart. In addition, when a modem or router freeze-up occurs, the AV550SC features a recycle/reset button with sequential outlet startup for proper modem and router rebooting.

Reliable 550VA/300W Battery Backup

UPS battery backup support allows you to work through short power failures and gives users time to save files and perform an orderly system shutdown in case of a prolonged blackout. The AV550SC’s internal battery provides 10 minutes of battery support for a half load (150 watts) and 3 minutes for a full load (300 watts). During normal operation, incoming utility power keeps the UPS battery fully charged so that backup power will always be available when needed.

A sudden power surge or spike on an AC, phone or network line can damage or destroy electronic components and wipe out irreplaceable data. The AV550SC’s high 1038-joule surge suppression rating protects connected components and data from the harmful effects of power surges. One set of tel/DSL (RJ11) jacks with included cable protect a standard dialup/DSL phone connection, and one set of HD-compatible coaxial jacks protect high definition video sources from dataline surges.

Various electromagnetic and radio sources can cause disruptive interference on the AC line. This line noise is a common cause of incremental hardware damage, data corruption and audio/video performance problems. The AV550SC incorporates advanced technology that filters out disruptive line noise, preventing it from affecting your equipment.
