Tripp Lite by Eaton 48U SmartRack Wide Standard-Depth Rack Enclosure Cabinet with doors & side panels

The SR48UBWD is a WIDE version of our standard 48U SmartRack. This enclosure is 750mm wide (29.5") compared to the standard 600mm wide (23.6"). This extra width allows for high density equipment installations. It allows cable management and PDU mounting off to the sides of the rack in order to keep these items out of the airflow for proper cooling.

The SR48UBWD features a massive front-to rear-ventilation capacity that meets or exceeds server manufacturer requirements. Its integrated baying tabs make it easy to combine multiple enclosures in rows for data center applications. This enclosure is also compatible with hot-aisle/cold-aisle configurations.

The SR48UBWD houses 3000 lb of standard 19-inch rack equipment in 48U. Its front and rear pairs of vertical rails have square mounting holes that are adjustable in quarter-inch increments from 4 to 37 inches. Adjustment is quick and an easy-view depth index ensures consistent rail placement without requiring time-consuming measurements. Each rack space within the enclosure is numbered for ready reference.

Two of the adjustable vertical mounting rails support toolless button-mount 0U installation of up to four compatible PDUs and cable managers. This feature makes it easier to route cabling to rack equipment and reduces cord clutter.

With its locking, reversible, removable front and rear doors, and locking, removable side panels, the SR48UBWD provides ultimate equipment safety. The side panels are half size for ease of removal and reinstallation. The split rear door design allows the enclosure to be placed closer to a wall. The SR48UBWD meets all requirements toward PCI DSS compliance.

The top panel of the SR48UBWD is vented to help remove warm air from the enclosure and draw in cool air by convection. The top panel includes ports for cable routing, and can be quickly removed without tools. To facilitate cable access, the SR45UBWD is open-bottom.

All components of the SR48UBWD are grounded to the enclosure frame. Front and rear threaded grounding points are provided for connection to the facility earth ground. The removable front and rear doors feature quick-release ground wires.

Extended 30” Width for Easier Installation and Service, Plus Improved Airflow and Cable Management

The SR48UBWD’s extended 30-in. width is larger than a standard 24-in. wide enclosure cabinet. The extra width supplies more room for equipment installation and service, along with enhanced airflow and additional cable management options. With the SR48UBWD, cable management and PDU mounting can be kept off to the sides of the rack for an unobstructed airflow path and improved cooling performance.

Secure Access for All Mission-Critical Equipment

The SR48UBWD is designed to provide a safe, secure installation solution for mission-critical rackmount equipment. Its locking, removable front and rear doors are perforated to promote efficient airflow. The side panels are also locking and removable. Locking doors and side panels prevent unauthorized access to installed equipment. The side panels are half size (two per side) for ease of removal and reinstallation. The front door is reversible and the split rear door design reduces clearance requirements for service access so the enclosure cabinet can be placed closer to a wall.

Designed for Simple Equipment Installation

The SR48UBWD’s front and rear pairs of vertical rails with square mounting holes are adjustable in quarter-inch increments to accommodate equipment depths from 4 to 37 inches. Adjustment is quick and convenient—simply unscrew the rails, slide them to the desired depth and restore the screws. An easy-view depth index ensures consistent rail placement without requiring time-consuming measurements. The rails are capable of supporting up to 3000 lbs. of equipment with included installation hardware and feature square mounting holes. Each rack space within the enclosure cabinet is numbered for ready reference.

Toolless Vertical Mounting Rails Support 0U PDU and Cable Manager Installations

The SR48UBWD’s two adjustable vertical mounting rails support toolless button-mount 0U installation of compatible PDUs and cable managers. Each rail can accommodate two vertical PDUs or cable managers side by side, for a total of four units per enclosure cabinet. These vertical mounting rails make it easier to route power and cabling to installed rack equipment and are ideal for network switches that have side-to-side airflow and forward-facing ports.

Vented Top Panel with Cable Ports Promotes Efficient Airflow and Keeps Cables Organized

The top panel of the SR48UBWD is furnished with vents that help remove warm air from the enclosure cabinet and draw in cool air by convection. It also supports installation of standard user-supplied case fans. The top panel contains cable routing ports and is designed for quick, toolless removal with no need to disconnect cables. An open bottom facilitates cable access.

Preinstalled Casters and Leveling Feet Provide Precise Placement

To simplify deployment, the SR48UBWD comes with preinstalled casters meant for minor position adjustments and leveling feet to stabilize the rack once positioned. The casters enable the SR48UBWD to be easily maneuvered into the desired location within the final installation area, where it can then be secured in place by adjusting the levelers. The SR48UBWD has a rolling load capacity of 2250 lbs., enabling rack equipment to be installed in the enclosure cabinet prior to final deployment.
